Sliding Scale

A limited number of sliding scale spots are available for clients with demonstrated financial need. Ask about current availability during the free consultation.

Insurance & Payment

Out-of-network, private pay

Insurance

Matt is currently in-network with Aetna and Cigna. Insurance eligibility is verified automatically when you book.

For clients with other insurance plans, Matt operates as an out-of-network, private pay provider. Superbills (itemized receipts with all required billing codes) are provided after each session so you can submit to your insurer for potential out-of-network reimbursement.

Note: Cigna in-network ends June 30, 2026. Aetna in-network ends July 15, 2026. Beginning July 16, 2026, I will be fully private pay / out-of-network with all insurers. Superbills will continue to be provided.

Contact your insurance provider to verify your out-of-network mental health benefits before starting therapy.

Good Faith Estimate

Under the No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of expected costs before services begin. This estimate will be provided at or before your first session.

The Good Faith Estimate does not lock you into a specific number of sessions. Therapy length varies based on individual needs and goals.

Cancellation Policy

Missed sessions & late cancellations

Cancellation & No-Show Policy

Please provide at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice, or missed appointments (no-shows), are charged a $40 late cancellation fee, billed automatically to the payment method on file.

Cancellations can be made by phone, email, or text message. Please include your name and the appointment date and time.

You'll receive automatic email and text reminders before your appointment. If you aren't receiving these, let Matt know.

Exceptions are made for genuine emergencies and unforeseen circumstances. Reach out as soon as possible and we can discuss your situation.

Session Frequency

Weekly sessions are recommended, especially early in therapy. Frequency can be adjusted over time based on progress and need.

When this isn't the right fit

Specialist care means being honest about its edges. So that you get the right help — from someone with the training and capacity your situation actually calls for — here's what I don't treat, and where I'll point you instead:

  • Active crisis, or a need for a higher level of care — active suicidal thoughts, recent self-harm, or anything that needs intensive outpatient or inpatient support. Telehealth private practice isn't the right setting for this. If that's where you are right now, please call or text 988, and I'll gladly help you find the right level of support.
  • Court-mandated treatment, evaluations, or legal testimony — forensic and court-ordered work, including custody evaluations and expert testimony, isn't a service I provide.

Not sure whether you're a fit? The free pre-consultation is the place to find out — no commitment, and if I'm not the right person, I'll help point you toward who is.

Common Questions

Frequently asked

It varies. Some people find what they need in a few months; others work together for a year or more. Matt tracks progress actively and discusses therapy length openly. You won't be in therapy longer than is useful.

In most cases, yes—therapy with a licensed mental health provider is an eligible expense for Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA). Check with your plan administrator to confirm eligibility.

That's exactly what the free 20-minute pre-consultation is for. It's a conversation—not a commitment. We'll talk about what's going on and whether this approach makes sense for where you are.

Matt currently works with adults (18+) only.

Availability varies. Book a free pre-consultation to check current openings — if there's a wait, Matt will let you know and discuss next steps.
