Privacy Policy
You're reading a therapist's website. What you look at here is nobody's business — including mine. This page explains exactly what this site does and doesn't collect.
This site doesn't track you.
- No analytics (no Google Analytics, no visitor tracking)
- No advertising or social-media pixels
- No tracking cookies — this site sets no cookies at all
- No contact forms — the site never asks for your name, email, or health information
That's deliberate. Most health websites quietly share visitor data with ad platforms. This one is built so there's nothing to share.
What this website collects
Almost nothing. This is a static informational site with no accounts, no forms, and no cookies. Like nearly every website, it is served by a hosting provider (Netlify), whose servers keep standard, short-lived technical logs — IP address, browser type, pages requested — for security and operations. I don't use those logs to identify visitors.
Third-party services this site uses
Three outside services load when you use this site. None of them receive your name or anything you'd consider personal — but loading any resource from another company's server means that server sees your IP address, so they're named here:
- Netlify — hosts the site and serves every page.
- Google Fonts — serves the typefaces. Your browser requests font files from Google's servers.
- Psychology Today — the "verified" membership seal on the homepage loads a small script from Psychology Today's servers.
Booking and scheduling
Scheduling happens on Sessions Health, a HIPAA-compliant electronic health record system, at matthewsimpson.sessionshealth.com — not on this website. Anything you enter there (your name, contact information, intake responses) is protected health information handled under HIPAA and under Sessions Health's own security practices, with a Business Associate Agreement in place. This website itself never sees or stores that information.
Email and phone
If you reach out by email or text, you're using channels that aren't fully secure end-to-end. Keep first messages brief — enough to say you'd like to talk. Anything clinical can wait for the consultation, which happens over HIPAA-compliant video.
Email is not a crisis line. If you are in crisis, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or call 911.
If you become a client
Once you're a client, your health information is governed by HIPAA and Washington State law — a much stronger set of protections than any website policy. The full details of how your protected health information may be used and disclosed, and your rights regarding it, are in the practice's HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices:
HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices
The complete legal notice, provided to every client and available to anyone considering care.

This site links out to a few external sites — Sessions Health, Psychology Today, LinkedIn, and others. Once you leave this site, their privacy practices apply, not this policy.
Changes and questions
If the way this site works changes — if a form or any analytics tool is ever added — this page will change to say so, with a new effective date. Questions about this policy or about how your information is handled: mattmonroe@therapyemail.com or (206) 944-0374.
